Just the other day I was chatting with another blogger and both of us realized that we had not recently stumbled across new blogs that had caught our attention. This is not because new and interesting blogs are not out there in abundance, but rather neither of us had been very adventuresome in our blog spelunking as of late. Much like any routine, you get stuck checking the same blogs you always have and move on with the things that need to be done.
With that in mind, I'm inviting you to shamelessly plug your blog, or one you read but feel is under-appreciated, in the comments section. I'm looking to build the blogroll, so which blogs are rockin your socks recently?

Today is a bad day to shamelessly plug our blog because the post is of very narrow interest, but our archive is full of fun stuffs. Especially the comments sections.
I know my blog has been a lot about parenting these days, but once I start working again in June my post topics should broaden out a bit
Here's a shameless plug, kinda like Cy Sperling.
For all your electrophysiology rig jockey talk, head over to my infrequently, and often inane, blog.
I'm still getting the hang of the whole blogging thing, but the new blog I've been reading lately is http://engineerblogs.org/, as well as the main blogs of everyone who contributes over there.
Why yes, I do think the world would be a much better place if more people read: http://neurodojo.blogspot.com
Brains! Behaviour! Evolution! Crustaceans! Ethics! Humour! Canadian spellings! STUFF!
Woohooo! I love shameless plugs - especially since the other kind are so shameful.
Behold, http://www.immunoBLOGulin.com the light at the end of your blog spelunking tunnel.
Pithily reporting on biological, health, and life science findings, with an amusing, slightly quirky twist, we aim to get at least one post out every day. (we're only about 5 behind schedule).
Have you made a scientist smile yet today?
It's not a blog, but your readers might be interested in my little shop of sciency-art, artologica.etsy.com It has brain cells, bacteria, viruses, blood vessels and lots of other fun stuff.
I'm new to blogging, and mine hasn't figured out where it belongs. I read the bogs of academics, because that's who I am, but I started my blog because I had friends who kept bugging me about having stopped writing poetry. And there's posts about any political activities I partake in, when I have time.
For fellow scimoms, adequateparenting.com, which is on a hiatus right now has a very interesting archive to peruse through for when you need a break and a dose of sanity.
A beautifully written blog by a writing/literature professor is writingasjo(e).blogspot.com It is relatively popular in some circles, but not in the ones I'm currently visiting.
We've been remiss of late (mostly because my quals are Monday, gulp), but we'll pick it up again in the summer! We use the blog as a training tool for our undergrads to learn how to write about science and for us grad students to have an excuse to write about cool stories that aren't directly relevant to our research.
...and also to whine about grad school.
http://drgateau.com/ is a pretty cool neuroscience/baking mashup I've been following. I highly recommend!
I'd second Zen's plug of his blog... I like learning about the crustaceans, but what I return for, and why I send my students, is for his Zen of Presentations posts.
Just started reading Barefoot Doctoral and am enjoying it.
You could always read me, too. There is no such thing as too much ladybusiness!
Hey whadda bout my blog? Oh, wait, I'm already blog-rolled. And mostly I complain about being tired and stressed on this blog. Fair warning.
Wanna know how to eff up work-life balance as a #scimom (or #scidad)? Come see me!!!!
Also liking Barefoot Doctoral
i'm a fan of several of the above commenter's blogs, and Benchfly.com is a favorite.
half of my own blog is devoted to the greater world of neuroscience, and the rest covers adventures into research with my loyal autoimmunity sidekick.
Shameless plug...I'm new to this whole thing, so I don't have many posts yet. But I'm trying to find my place in the science world away from the bench after a postdoc. Scary! And exciting!
Thanks for the opportunity to shamelessly advertise my new blog
http://academic-garden.blogspot.com
about academia in India.
now THAT is some excellent self-promotion!! Well done-also, I agree that Neurodojo is a great blog
Hey--me, too! Though I sometimes complain about more than just being tired and stressed.
It's nice to be invited to plug your blog. I hope you find The Febrile Muse interesting...infectious disease/science/literature/arts http://febrilemuse-infectious-disease.blogspot.com/
I need to look at my blogroll too..time to spiff it up.
Hmmm...I'll join the fray....just started blogging as well.
An American in search of an adventure takes his first postdoctoral position in a strange land of lecturers and readers. His love of hip hop music has inspired a pseudonym and a blog that aims to be as multidisciplinary as the science that drives him.
Justin keepin' it real...
Hating the Yankees is good enough for me!
I'm excited to add a lot to my Google Reader! Keep'em coming!
Ohai.
Mememe! I'm shameless too!
I write mostly about sleeping and staying awake and I am a big fan of electrophysiology.
My blog is still pretty new, but I'd be thrilled if you drop by.

Mememe! I'm shameless too!
I write mostly about sleeping and staying awake, which may or may not stay that way.
My blog is still pretty new, but I'd love it if you'd drop by.
Mmmmmmm, BRAAAAAIIIIIINNNNSSSS. In cake.
and sorry for the double comment...
NP, your first one can nabbed by the spam filter.
Totes Votes for FunkDoctorX and WormPilot and NeuroDojo. Already regular readers of those.
You better be reading' my Jekyll/Hyde blog at Some Lies
Science, swearing, shenanigans, creative writing, nonsensical bullshit, and updated FAR more frequently than BrooksPhD... :/
I complain more on mine!
I'll add my vote for Neurodojo!
You ALL complain plenty, let's not fight.
Almost forgot - I'm loving Sneetch! http://thesneetchblog.blogspot.com/
Come hear from a physicist who likes to rant about politics
and students while musing about random things. Allegedly it's a
group blog, but I'm the only one posting these days (and I'm not
even the guy who started the blog!).
The blog would all be rants, but I chose to blog under my real name so I'm trying to hit on statistics, R, and biology as well. We can't all do the pseudonymous fire-breathing thing.
For a mix of mommy angst, commuter marriage travails, and life at a teaching-intensive joint, check me out.

[...] you would like to hear more about? AND, though I've been trying to cheat off of PLS's recent blogrolling, if you would like to shamelessly plug your own blog here, feel free. It's a party, and we're all [...]
Well I wouldn't say its a great blog, but I'd enjoy some company every once in a while. You can find the random ponderings of a baby scientist at rxnh.blogspot.com
I'm a big fan of GMP @ http://academic-jungle.blogspot.com/
Also, the hermitage, but she hasn't been around for a bit.
Someday maybe I'll be as awesome and web-famous as Prof-Like Substance. This can only happen if you visit my blog:
http://pipettingdiva.blogspot.com/
where I make witty and amusing observations about being a burgeoning scientist, grad student, and lone wolf in the lab.
You love it.
http://www.confounding.net is mine. I've been doing my level best to keep it semi-updated, though that was dashed on the rocks recently, but I've been getting back to it. It's mostly musings from a grad student in public health.
http://hollidaylab.wordpress.com/ is mine. Mostly about new things in the lab and the world of vertebrate paleontology

science, tech, anti-creationism, and environment
